Our Story
If you’ve spent any time at all in Appalachia, or anywhere in the South, you’ve probably heard the phrase, “livin’ high on the hog.”
Or perhaps you might have heard an unexpected grace note in the day referred to as, “high livin’”: a free beer, a comped dinner, a rare first printing in the bargain bin.
High Livin’ is a print journal that seeks to embody this feeling through lived experience and personal interpretation.
We look to embrace those priceless, fleeting moments that remain with us long after they have passed.
Personal stories of work, leisure, resistance, and survival, carry weight. We look for the high moments when they arrive, however they arrive.
This is our way of forging a path ahead that never lets us forget where we came from and, perhaps more importantly, reminds us why we’re still here.
